The 'Dubai World Cuisine’ movement aims to provide a platform for homegrown chefs to collaboratively shape the cultural identity of Dubai and establish it on the world’s culinary map.

 

2022 has seen the most important culinary guides introduced to Dubai. In the process of becoming one of the world's culinary capitals, something essential is still missing: a culinary identity!

 

As result of an incredible growth and market maturity, Dubai has passed from importing the best culinary concepts from all over the world to become an incubator for a home-grown culinary movement capable of producing Michelin star level restaurants.

With a program of culinary activations in the next 3 years where we partner with international chefs, we want to promote the chefs of leading restaurants born in Dubai with original concepts that are not strictly related to an ethnic cuisine but are instead a synthesis of cuisines, styles and ingredients - an expression of the unique cultural melting pot, that is Dubai.

 

The movement aims to:

  • Provide a platform for homegrown chefs to collaboratively shape the cultural identity of Dubai on the global map
  • Establish goals and targets for the community of chefs and restaurants who are part of the movement
  • Establish Dubai as the world’s leading culinary destination for global tourists
Why Singapore?

Why Singapore?

  • This year we have chosen Singapore as a “promotional partner” for our culinary activations because of the evident similarities with Dubai. A multi-cultural culinary scene where chefs from all over the world come for the first time, face similar challenges and are given the platform to develop and promote their own culinary cuisine.
  • Sustainability and food security became in few years an essential part of Dubai culinary scene, which generated, along with a distinctive “Dubai’s glamour factor”, what it’s now called the “green fine dining”, and the international chefs selected are great ambassadors of this cuisine.
  • 6 chefs from Singapore will be hosted in 6 restaurants in Dubai, with the chefs collaborating on presenting a never-seen-before menu for the first time in Dubai, for one night only.
  • In May the Dubai chefs will be hosted in Singapore for 6 dinners under the umbrella of Dubai World Cuisine by Gulfood
After-Hours Fringe Events

After-Hours Fringe Events

  • For the first time Gulfood will extend its platform to the city promoting afterhours events in the most prestigious dining venues in Dubai.
  • A series of 4-hands Michelin star dinners linked to the TOP TABLE masterclasses will bring the Gulfood themes to life across the best restaurants in Dubai.
  • 4-hands dinners will be cooked by a Dubai World Cuisine chef and an international Michelin-starred chef.
